All GluMetrics products are currently under development.
All GluMetrics products are based on our core glucose sensing technology -- a unique fluorescent chemistry. This boronic acid-based polymeric material is capable of detecting and measuring the blood glucose level of diabetics and other hospitalized patients in a way that will enable clinicians to deliver higher quality care than has ever before been achieved.
The chemistry provides a rapid, highly sensitive and specific measurement without consuming glucose in the process of making a measurement. The measurement is not sensitive to oxygen in the environment and is both stable and reversible. These unique properties provide promise for a clinical breakthrough in glucose sensing technology.
GluCath™
GluCath™ is the embodiment of the chemistry into a sensor/catheter system for the continuous monitoring of acutely ill patients in the hospital setting. GluCath™ is a single-use, disposable system, inserted into the venous periphery, which will communicate with a dedicated monitor allowing the real-time, direct monitoring of blood glucose for up to 48 continuous hours.
